'Lakachuk' Greetings, and Welcome! I was on my way to take the Radio Amateur City & Guilds exam in a distant town and was driving down a quiet country road - taking a short cut. The sun was shining, the leaves just begining to turn colour on the trees. Life was wonderful. Suddenly I felt as if I was slightly 'out of phase' with my body. I felt as if I were somewhere towards the back seat and someone else was driving! It surprised me at first but I had heard about similar things happening before - OOBEs etc; so I quickly recovered and 'forced' myself back into control. Nevertheless I was intrigued. What had happened? During the brief period that I was in 'partial' control of driving I was aware that 'whatever it was' had no knowedge of roads, let alone cars - but they felt it was great fun to be hurtling along! I had thoughts racing around in my head and decided to ASK who was there! Not a very normal thing to do - but I was curious and alone so why not? I didn't feel foolish as I might have done with someone with me. So, I asked, - out loud - "Who is it?" There was a distinct laugh that I equated to more of a male 'giggle' - not a hearty laugh. I asked again. The same result. I asked a third time and a voice as distinct as any ordinary everyday voice came back inside my head - "LAKACHUK". Be aware that I was driving all this time! I must have been on auto-pilot. You know how sometimes you drive on your rear mirror for some time and travel forward quite safely. Something like that. Yes you have. You have all done it. Own up! I repeated the name out loud and received a giggle in reply! Obviously I wasn't quite correct on hearing or repeating what I thought I heard. I then asked just a single word - out loud of course - "Where?". I was 'shown' a snowy landscape and a mound in the snow, some 8ft long by about 3 ft high - not an igloo, more of a grave-shaped mound, all covered in snow. There was no horizon. The sky and the land merged into one - like the 'white-out' or 'grey-out' one gets in snow sometimes. I then was aware that I was inside and literally touching 'nose to nose' with this 'individual' - remember I'm still driving! (I had covered about half a mile at least over all). I noticed that his eyes were shut, almond shaped, - but I couldn't see any mouth or forehead - I was too close. I felt no breath. Next moment I was looking upwards and gazing at a latticed 'roof' just inches from my face and the smooth side of animal skins over them. The next moment and -click! - I was at the foot of the mound and I saw a man with his eyes closed, a heavy furry skin wrapped around his body and head, with dark hair, apparently in a trance. Almost immediately I was back in full control of my senses and was wondering what I had experienced! I was some half a mile plus from when it all began. I didn't 'hear' anything from 'LAKACHUK' until 15 years later - although I asked all over the Internet, New Age fairs, Mediums, channellers, and at Spiritualist meetings. I received no information at all. I just put it down to 'one of those things'. Some 15 years later I went to a shamanic workshop run by a fellow by the name of Kerys 'Laughing Bear' and it was there, during a 'journey', that Lakachuck turned up again as my Guide. (I use a similar meditation for one of my CDs). Lakachuck also led me to meet my 'other' Guide, "Chief Crying Fox", during the same day - but that is another story! I had at last discovered who Lakachuk was after all that time. He was a shaman - 'out of this time' - but not unknown to it. I was absolutely delighted, to say the least. He uses me to 'channel' and we have quite a 'modern' dialogue together - though I have to tape the actual channelling as I don't remember what was said. He is very patient with me. I must admit that he gives me the impression occasionally that he would like me to be more 'adventurous' but maybe that says more about his personality than mine. I really have had enormous help from him both in my health crises and with my spiritual journeys. He really is a fine mentor. Thank you Lakachuk. Namaste Old Friend. BTW - I passed my exam with Credits! |
