'Chief Crying Fox' "All Our Relations" - Welcome.
I had already met my power animal which was 'Fox', and had 'shape-shifted' with it. It was a beautiful experience. I had quite a good knowledge of how foxes behaved as I used to hunt them twice a week with a beagle pack and guns. It had been part of my life for several years and we used to account for some 120 foxes per year. Eventually I learned better - but via a hard route! Nothing had prepared me for the beautiful experience I had as 'Fox'. Travelling through the woods; pausing at a stream to drink; playing with fallen leaves; at the same time the intensity of the awakened senses, stimulated to their highest pitch. Really using all of the senses entirely as a means of ensuring actual survival. One has to be always alert when one is 'Fox'! One feels the air through every fine hair on one's skin, especially the tail, which also acts like the rudder on a boat. The sounds and smells of Nature are greatly enhanced. I eventually heard the four shakes of the rattle and began my return to my 'safe room' to await the final recall and then to re-join the others. As I changed, - shape-shifting back - I hurried forwards and passed a tall Native American. He appeared to be 8ft tall. I only noticed him from the waist up. He looked straight ahead, unblinking, and from his head sweatband hung a fox's tail. Immediately I saw this I knew instictively, without any doubt, that it was the tail of one of my cubs! The pain that shot through my heart was awesome. I was emotionally devastated. Then into my head came the words, spoken softly, gently, comforting, - "It is alright. It is acceptable. It is for ritual and ceremonial only. It is not for fashion." The emotional pain subsided somewhat but I still held on to it as I entered my 'safe room' and eventually returned fully aware to the rest of the group. Kerys 'Laughing Bear' sensed that I was upset and asked a few others about their journey experiences before he came to me. I took several moments before I was able to reiterate what I had experienced. I was later able to rationalise the 8ft tall Native Indian. I was a fox - a bitch fox at that. Obviously he would appear tall in comparison to me! I had not fully 'returned'. The lesson? Well, I did experience the female side of myself for a brief moment. I also experienced, albeit I fully accept in a very small way, just what a mother can feel at the loss of her baby. I am grateful for being allowed the experience. I am the richer for it. It also taught me that there is no such thing as a free lunch! I later met 'Chief Crying Fox', as he is so named, during another 'journey' and he acts as my Guide in the 'Lower Realms'. He is always happy - in actual fact quite the opposite to what his name implies, and often laughs when I get things wrong. He is aware of 'Lakachuk' and they frequently work in tandem, although 'Lakachuck' works mainly with me in the 'Upper Realms'. I have never met "Chief Crying Fox" there - so far! A strange story, maybe even 'silly' to some perhaps. I offer it only as my own truth. You will of course have your own. I honour mine and acknowledge yours. The picture above? Just for effect my friend. It is just for decoration - not for ritual. It is of no consequence! It is not 'Chief Crying Fox'. Whilst performing some of my 'Spirit' work I often have "Chief Crying Fox" as my Guide and in recognition and to honour this delightful and supportive Guide and Spirit Brother I say:- Thank you "Chief Crying Fox". It is indeed a priviledge. Namaste my Brother. "All Our Relations" |
